For over 15 years, she has led and managed a small non-profit animal rescue, focusing on rehabilitating animals with the ultimate aim of adoption. Additionally, she holds an active role as an executive member of the board of directors for her local steelhead association, where she works toward conservation, protection, and public education on safeguarding wild fish. She is also a dedicated member of the Wild Mustang Foundation and the Canadian Horse Coalition. Furthermore, she actively contributes to Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing and serves as an ambassador for the American Museum of Fly Fishing.

Growing up on a farm, and the youngest of 2 siblings, she learned to cherish the most important thing: family. Sadly, her eldest brother, who had been her mentor and fishing buddy, passed away tragically when she was a teenager. During those difficult years, she turned to fly fishing as a source of solace. Over time, her love for fly fishing, along with her strong faith, passion for horses, and enjoyment of the outdoors, helped to mend her heart. Today, she fishes in memory of her beloved brother, never forgetting him for a single day.

Born into a lineage steeped in Scandinavian heritage, her family's roots trace back to the ancient Vikings of Finland to Norway. For her, the great outdoors has always been her sanctuary, fostering a profound connection to Mother Earth. Her foundational faith is a blend of her Scandinavian upbringing and Cree First Nations influences from her childhood. Throughout her life, she has integrated elements of these ancient traditions, including traditional saunas, sweat lodges, smudging, and drumming.

Aside from her boat and being on the water, her favourite place to be is around her horses and hanging around the barn.

"I feel like my love for water, the outdoors, and fishing was ingrained in me from the start. Even as a toddler, I was captivated by the sights and sounds of small creeks and streams, marveling at the frogs, minnows, and bugs that called them home. Nowadays, I venture beyond North America to fish in freshwater and saltwater systems across the globe. One of my favorite destinations is Colombia. Its untamed waters teem with fish, particularly peacock bass, providing an exhilarating fishing experience."
